Prophet Jonah - 10:108
"Say: "O people, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Whoever is guided is guided for his own sake, and whoever goes astray goes astray to his own detriment. I am not responsible for you."
Prophet Muhammad blamed himself for not being able to show the miracles they asked for and therefore his people did not believe. Our Lord reassured his messenger that he was not responsible for those who did not believe:
The Night Journey/17:90
"They said: "We will not believe in you until you make a spring spring up for us from the earth."
وَقَالُوا لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتّٰى تَفْجُرَ لَنَا مِنَ الْاَرْضِ يَنْبُوعاًۙ
The Night Journey/17:91
Or you should have gardens of dates and grapes and make rivers gush forth between them.
اَوْ تَكُونَ لَكَ جَنَّةٌ مِنْ نَخ۪يلٍ وَعِنَبٍ فَتُفَجِّرَ الْاَنْهَارَ خِلَالَهَا تَفْج۪يراًۙ
The Night Journey/17:92
Or you should make pieces of the sky fall on us, as you claim, or you should bring Allah and the angels before us.
اَوْ تُسْقِطَ السَّمَٓاءَ كَمَا زَعَمْتَ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفاً اَوْ تَأْتِيَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْمَلٰٓئِكَةِ قَب۪يلاًۙ
The Night Journey/17:93
"Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend to heaven. Even if you ascend, we will not believe in it until you send down upon us a Book that we may read."Say: "Great is my Lord. Am I but a human being, a messenger?"
اَوْ يَكُونَ لَكَ بَيْتٌ مِنْ زُخْرُفٍ اَوْ تَرْقٰى فِي السَّمَٓاءِۜ وَلَنْ نُؤْمِنَ لِرُقِيِّكَ حَتّٰى تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَاباً نَقْرَؤُ۬هُۜ قُلْ سُبْحَانَ رَبّ۪ي هَلْ كُنْتُ اِلَّا بَشَراً رَسُولاً۟
The Cow/2:272
It is not for you to guide them to the truth. But Allah guides whom He wills. Whatever good you do to the needy is for your own benefit. Your charity should be for Allah alone. Whatever good you do will be repaid to you in full. You will not be wronged.
لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ هُدٰيهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَهْد۪ي مَنْ يَشَٓاءُۜ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلِاَنْفُسِكُمْۜ وَمَا تُنْفِقُونَ اِلَّا ابْتِغَٓاءَ وَجْهِ اللّٰهِۜ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ يُوَفَّ اِلَيْكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُونَ
The Family Of Imran/3:184
And if they deny you, do not be surprised, for before you were denied the messengers who brought clear proofs and the Psalms (hymns of God´s love) and the enlightening Book.
فَاِنْ كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ جَٓاؤُ۫ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُن۪يرِ
The Women/4:80
He who follows the messenger follows Allah. Whoever turns away, let him turn away; We have not sent you as a watchman over them.
مَنْ يُطِـعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ اَطَاعَ اللّٰهَۚ وَمَنْ تَوَلّٰى فَمَٓا اَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَف۪يظاًۜ
Prophet Hud/11:120
We have related to you enough of the history of the messengers to strengthen your heart. In this has come truth for you, and an enlightenment and a warning for those who believe.
وَكُلاًّ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ اَنْبَٓاءِ الرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِه۪ فُؤٰادَكَۚ وَجَٓاءَكَ ف۪ي هٰذِهِ الْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرٰى لِلْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ
The Bee/16:82
If they turn away, your duty is only to convey (the message) clearly.
فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَاِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ الْمُب۪ينُ

The Cave/18:29
"Say, "This truth is from your Lord."Let whoever wishes believe and whoever wishes disbelieve. We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire that will surround them, and whenever they cry out for help, they will be offered water that scalds their faces like concentrated acid. What an evil drink, what an evil end!"
وَقُلِ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَمَنْ شَٓاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِنْ وَمَنْ شَٓاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرْۙ اِنَّٓا اَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّالِم۪ينَ نَاراًۙ اَحَاطَ بِهِمْ سُرَادِقُهَاۜ وَاِنْ يَسْتَغ۪يثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَٓاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَۜ بِئْسَ الشَّرَابُۜ وَسَٓاءَتْ مُرْتَفَقاً
The Prophets/21:5
"They even said, "It is a vain imagination,"and, "He has fabricated it,"and, "He is a poet; let him bring us miracles like the messengers of old."
بَلْ قَالُٓوا اَضْغَاثُ اَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرٰيهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌۚ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِاٰيَةٍ كَمَٓا اُرْسِلَ الْاَوَّلُونَ
The Prophets/21:6
None of the people whom We destroyed before them believed; will these believe now?
مَٓا اٰمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ اَهْلَكْنَاهَاۚ اَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
The Scatterers/51:52
"Thus, whenever a messenger came to those before them, they used to say: "This is a sorcerer"or "This is a madman"."
كَذٰلِكَ مَٓا اَتَى الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ اِلَّا قَالُوا سَاحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
The Scatterers/51:53
Did they advise one another (to say this)? Indeed, they are a people who transgress.
اَتَوَاصَوْا بِه۪ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
The Scatterers/51:54
Turn away from them; you are not to be blamed.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَٓا اَنْتَ بِمَلُومٍۘ
The Scatterers/51:55
Remind them, for reminding benefits those who believe.
وَذَكِّرْ فَاِنَّ الذِّكْرٰى تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ
The Cave/18:6
If they do not believe this, will you blame yourself after them, and will you grieve?
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِـعٌ نَفْسَكَ عَلٰٓى اٰثَارِهِمْ اِنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهٰذَا الْحَد۪يثِ اَسَفاً
The Table Spread/5:68
"Say, "People of the Book! You will have no basis until you apply the Torah and the Gospel and what has been sent down to you from your Lord."What has been sent down to you from your Lord increases the disbelief and disobedience of most of them. Do not grieve for the disbelieving people."
قُلْ يَٓا اَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَسْتُمْ عَلٰى شَيْءٍ حَتّٰى تُق۪يمُوا التَّوْرٰيةَ وَالْاِنْج۪يلَ وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْۜ وَلَيَز۪يدَنَّ كَث۪يراً مِنْهُمْ مَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ طُغْيَاناً وَكُفْراًۚ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِر۪ينَ
The Bee/16:35
Those who associate partners, if Allah had not willed, neither we nor our ancestors would have served anything besides Him, nor would we have forbidden anything besides what He has forbidden. So did those before them. Does the messenger have any duty other than to make clear?
وَقَالَ الَّذ۪ينَ اَشْرَكُوا لَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِنْ دُونِه۪ مِنْ شَيْءٍ نَحْنُ وَلَٓا اٰبَٓاؤُ۬نَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِنْ دُونِه۪ مِنْ شَيْءٍۜ كَذٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۚ فَهَلْ عَلَى الرُّسُلِ اِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُب۪ينُ
The Cow/2:119
We have sent you with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. You are not responsible for the people of Hell.
اِنَّٓا اَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَش۪يراً وَنَذ۪يراًۙ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ اَصْحَابِ الْجَح۪يمِ
The Rocky Tract/15:88
Do not be jealous of what We have given to some of them and do not grieve over them (the disbelievers). Lower your wings to those who believe.
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ اِلٰى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِه۪ٓ اَزْوَاجاً مِنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ
The Rocky Tract/15:95
We are sufficient for you against those who mock.
اِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِء۪ينَۙ
The Rocky Tract/15:97
We know that your chest is constricted because of what you say.
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ اَنَّكَ يَض۪يقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَۙ
The Cattle/6:33
We know that what they say grieves you. Those wrongdoers reject Allah´s Verses, not you.
قَدْ نَعْلَمُ اِنَّهُ لَيَحْزُنُكَ الَّذ۪ي يَقُولُونَ فَاِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلٰكِنَّ الظَّالِم۪ينَ بِاٰيَاتِ اللّٰهِ يَجْحَدُونَ
The Cattle/6:34
They accused the messengers before you of falsehood. They resisted the denials. They suffered hardship until Our victory came. Allah´s system will not change. Indeed, the history of the messengers has reached you.
وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا عَلٰى مَا كُذِّبُوا وَاُو۫ذُوا حَتّٰٓى اَتٰيهُمْ نَصْرُنَاۚ وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِۚ وَلَقَدْ جَٓاءَكَ مِنْ نَبَا۬ئِ الْمُرْسَل۪ينَ
The Cattle/6:35
If their turning away is too much for you, know that even if you had the power to make a hole in the earth or a ladder in the sky, it would not profit you if you presented a miracle. Had Allah willed, He would have guided them. So do not be among the ignorant.
وَاِنْ كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ اِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَاِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ اَنْ تَبْتَغِيَ نَفَقاً فِي الْاَرْضِ اَوْ سُلَّماً فِي السَّمَٓاءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُمْ بِاٰيَةٍۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى الْهُدٰى فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْجَاهِل۪ينَ
The Poets/26:3
You may be grieving yourself because they do not believe
لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَفْسَكَ اَلَّا يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِن۪ينَ
Originator/35:8
What do you say to the one whose evil deed is adorned to him and he considers it good? Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So do not grieve yourself for them. Allah knows well what they do.
اَفَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُٓوءُ عَمَلِه۪ فَرَاٰهُ حَسَناًۜ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُضِلُّ مَنْ يَشَٓاءُ وَيَهْد۪ي مَنْ يَشَٓاءُۘ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَاتٍۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَل۪يمٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ
Prophet Hud/11:12
"Perhaps your chest will be constricted and you will abandon some of what has been revealed to you because they say, "Should not a treasure have descended to him, or an angel with him?"You are only a warner; Allah is the Controller of all things."
فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحٰٓى اِلَيْكَ وَضَٓائِقٌ بِه۪ صَدْرُكَ اَنْ يَقُولُوا لَوْلَٓا اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ اَوْ جَٓاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌۜ اِنَّـمَٓا اَنْتَ نَذ۪يرٌۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَك۪يلٌۜ
