The Thunder - 13:6 Instead of asking for good, they ask You to bring upon them a calamity at once, but examples have gone before them. Your Lord is forgiving to the people despite their wrongdoing. The torment of your Lord is severe.
Those of the past generations who challenged for the coming of the torment and examples of their end:
The Heights/7:65 "And We sent to the people of Ad their brother Hud, saying: "My people, worship Allah. You have no god but Him. Will you not be righteous?"
The Heights/7:70 "They said: "Have you come to us that we may serve Allah alone and abandon what our forefathers served? Bring us what you threatened us with if you are truthful."
The Heights/7:71 "He said: "You are condemned to a torment and anger from your Lord. Are you disputing with me about names which you and your fathers invented and to which Allah has not given them any power? Wait, and I am of those who wait with you."
The Heights/7:72 We saved him and those with him as a Mercy from Us, and We cut off those who denied Our Verses and disbelieved.
Prophet Hud/11:32 "They said: "O Noah, you disputed with us and prolonged the dispute with us. Bring us what you threaten us with if you are truthful."
Prophet Hud/11:36 "It was revealed to Noah: "None of your people will believe now except those who have believed until now. Do not let their behavior grieve you."
Prophet Hud/11:37 Build the ark by our revelation under our supervision. Do not appeal to me for the wrongdoers; they will be drowned in the water.
The Spider/29:29 "You are having sexual intercourse with men, cutting the roads and committing every evil in your gatherings."The only response of his people was to say, "Bring the punishment of Allah if you are of the truthful."
The Spider/29:30 "He said, "My Lord, give me victory over this corrupt people."
The Moon/54:33 The people of Lot also denied the warnings.
The Moon/54:34 We sent upon them a storm raining stones, and We saved only Lot´s family at dawn.
The Moon/54:35 As a favor from Us. This is how We reward the grateful.
The Moon/54:36 He had warned them of Our seizure, but they regarded the warnings with suspicion.
The Moon/54:37 They coveted his guests, so We blinded them, so taste My torment and My warnings.
The Moon/54:38 The next day a severe torment greeted their morning.
The Moon/54:39 Taste My torment and My warnings.
