Prophet Abraham - 14:33
He put at your service the sun and the moon, which do not fail in their duties, and He put at your service the night and the day.
The sun and the moon that do not fail in their duties:
Yaseen/36:38
The sun travels on its appointed course. This is an order established by the Exalted and Wise.
وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْر۪ي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَاۜ ذٰلِكَ تَقْد۪يرُ الْعَز۪يزِ الْعَل۪يمِۜ
Yaseen/36:39
And We appointed for the moon various stages until it turns into a dry palm branch.
وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتّٰى عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَد۪يمِ
Yaseen/36:40
Neither can the sun reach the moon, nor can the night overtake the day. Each of them floats in an orbit.
لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغ۪ي لَـهَٓا اَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِۜ وَكُلٌّ ف۪ي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
Prophet Jonah/10:5
He made the sun a source of light and the moon a light. He has given it phases so that you may know the number of years and reckoning. Allah has created these only for a truth. This is how He explains the verses to a people who know.
هُوَ الَّذ۪ي جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَٓاءً وَالْقَمَرَ نُوراً وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُوا عَدَدَ السِّن۪ينَ وَالْحِسَابَۜ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ ذٰلِكَ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّۜ يُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
The Thunder/13:2
It is Allah Who raised the heavens without a pillar that you can see, then He is sovereign over all government, and He subdued the sun and the moon. All of them pass away for a definite period of time. He controls all affairs and explains the verses in detail so that you may have no doubt about meeting your Lord
اَللّٰهُ الَّذ۪ي رَفَعَ السَّمٰوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَۜ كُلٌّ يَجْر۪ي لِاَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۜ يُدَبِّرُ الْاَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ بِلِقَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ
The Prophets/21:33
He it is Who has created the night, the day, the sun and the moon. All of them move in an orbit.
وَهُوَ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَۜ كُلٌّ ف۪ي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
The Heights/7:54
Allah, your Lord, is He Who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established His authority. He covers the night with the day that pursues it incessantly. The sun, the moon and the stars are subject to His authority. To Him belongs the creation and the government. How great is Allah, the Lord of the universes!
اِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّٰهُ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ ف۪ي سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِي الَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُ حَث۪يثاًۙ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِاَمْرِه۪ۜ اَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْاَمْرُۜ تَبَارَكَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَم۪ينَ
The Most Gracious/55:5
The sun and the moon (move) by a calculation.
اَلشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍۖ
Explained in Detail/41:37
The night, the day, the sun and the moon are of His signs. Do not prostrate to the sun and the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them. If you will serve Him.
وَمِنْ اٰيَاتِهِ الَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُۜ لَا تَسْجُدُوا لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَاسْجُدُوا لِلّٰهِ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَهُنَّ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ اِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ ۩
Luqman/31:29
Do you not see that Allah has put the night into the day and the day into the night, and that He has the sun and the moon under His control, and that each of them is passing by until an appointed term, and that Allah is aware of what they do?
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي الَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَۘ كُلٌّ يَجْر۪ٓي اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يرٌ
Originator/35:13
He puts the night into the day and the day into the night. And He has placed under His command the sun and the moon, which go forth until an appointed time. Such is Allah your Lord; to Him belongs the sovereignty. And those whom you call upon besides Him cannot rule even the membrane of a kernel.
يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي الَّيْلِۙ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَۘ كُلٌّ يَجْر۪ي لِاَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۜ ذٰلِكُمُ اللّٰهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِه۪ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْ قِطْم۪يرٍۜ
The Companies/39:5
He created the heavens and the earth with truth. He rolls the night over the day and the day over the night. And He has placed the sun and the moon under His command, and each of them moves on for a certain period. Surely, He is the Exalted, the Forgiving.
خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّۚ يُكَوِّرُ الَّيْلَ عَلَى النَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهَارَ عَلَى الَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَۜ كُلٌّ يَجْر۪ي لِاَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۜ اَلَا هُوَ الْعَز۪يزُ الْغَفَّارُ
The Cow/2:258
"Did you not notice the one who disputed with Abraham about his Lord when Allah had given him sovereignty? When Ibrahim said, "My Lord is He who gives life and kills,"he said, "I also give life and kill."Ibrahim said, "Allah brings the sun from the east. Why don´t you bring it from the west?"The disbeliever was astonished. Allah does not guide the unjust people to the truth."
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذ۪ي حَٓاجَّ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ ف۪ي رَبِّه۪ٓ اَنْ اٰتٰيهُ اللّٰهُ الْمُلْكَۢ اِذْ قَالَ اِبْرٰه۪يمُ رَبِّيَ الَّذ۪ي يُحْـي۪ وَيُم۪يتُۙ قَالَ اَنَا۬ اُحْـي۪ وَاُم۪يتُۜ قَالَ اِبْرٰه۪يمُ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَأْت۪ي بِالشَّمْسِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ فَأْتِ بِهَا مِنَ الْمَغْرِبِ فَبُهِتَ الَّذ۪ي كَفَرَۜ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِم۪ينَۚ
