The Family Of Imran - 3:185
Everyone will taste death. On the Day of Resurrection your rewards will be given to you in full. And whoever is rescued from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he is victorious. The life of this world is but a deceitful pleasure.
Comparison of the life of this world and the Hereafter:
The Thunder/13:26
Allah increases or decreases provision for whom He wills. They rejoice in the life of this world, while the life of this world is but a subsistence compared to the Hereafter.
اَللّٰهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَٓاءُ وَيَقْدِرُۜ وَفَرِحُوا بِالْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۜ وَمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ اِلَّا مَتَاعٌ۟
The Bee/16:95
Do not sell your pledge to Allah cheaply. Better for you is that which is with Allah, if you only knew.
وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِعَهْدِ اللّٰهِ ثَمَناً قَل۪يلاًۜ اِنَّمَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
The Family Of Imran/3:14
Pleasures such as women, children, heaps of gold and silver, trained horses, cattle and crops seem attractive to people. These are the blessings of the life of this world. But the best destination is with Allah.
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَٓاءِ وَالْبَن۪ينَ وَالْقَنَاط۪يرِ الْمُقَنْطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ الْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالْاَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِۜ ذٰلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۚ وَاللّٰهُ عِنْدَهُ حُسْنُ الْمَاٰبِ
The Women/4:77
"Have you not paid attention to those who were told, "Keep your hands off the war, observe the prayer and pay the zakat"? When they were commanded to fight, they began to fear mankind as they feared Allah, perhaps more, and they said, "Our Lord, why have you burdened us with war, could you not have postponed it until a near time?"Say, "This world is but a little, and the Hereafter is better for the righteous, and you will not be wronged in the slightest."
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذ۪ينَ ق۪يلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّٓوا اَيْدِيَكُمْ وَاَق۪يمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَۚ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ اِذَا فَر۪يقٌ مِنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللّٰهِ اَوْ اَشَدَّ خَشْيَةًۚ وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتَالَۚ لَوْلَٓا اَخَّرْتَنَٓا اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَر۪يبٍۜ قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَل۪يلٌۚ وَالْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِمَنِ اتَّقٰى وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ فَت۪يلاً
The Repentance/9:38
"O you who believe, what has happened to you that when you were told, "Take action in the way of Allah,"you fell to the ground? Are you content with the life of this world instead of the Hereafter? The blessings of the life of this world are little compared to the life of the Hereafter."
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ اِذَا ق۪يلَ لَكُمُ انْفِرُوا ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ اِلَى الْاَرْضِۜ اَرَض۪يتُمْ بِالْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْاٰخِرَةِۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ اِلَّا قَل۪يلٌ
Prophet Hud/11:15
Whoever seeks the life of this world and its luxuries, We will repay them therein in full for what they used to do, and they will not be lacking therein in anything.
مَنْ كَانَ يُر۪يدُ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا وَز۪ينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ اِلَيْهِمْ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ف۪يهَا وَهُمْ ف۪يهَا لَا يُبْخَسُونَ
Prophet Hud/11:16
For them in the Hereafter there is only Fire. All that they used to do will be null and void therein. All that they did is null and void.
اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ الَّذ۪ينَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ اِلَّا النَّارُۘ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا ف۪يهَا وَبَاطِلٌ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Prophet Hud/11:108
And those who deserve happiness will abide in Paradise as long as the heavens and the earth endure. Except if your Lord wills. This is an uninterrupted reward.
وَاَمَّا الَّذ۪ينَ سُعِدُوا فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ خَالِد۪ينَ ف۪يهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوَاتُ وَالْاَرْضُ اِلَّا مَا شَٓاءَ رَبُّكَۜ عَطَٓاءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوذٍ
The Cave/18:28
Seek to be with those who serve morning and evening, seeking the Pleasure of their Lord. Do not desire the attractive materials of this world´s life and take your eyes off them. And do not follow those whose hearts We have made heedless of Our Message and who mix up their affairs according to their whims.
وَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الَّذ۪ينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَدٰوةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُر۪يدُونَ وَجْهَهُ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْۚ تُر۪يدُ ز۪ينَةَ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِـعْ مَنْ اَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوٰيهُ وَكَانَ اَمْرُهُ فُرُطاً
The Stories/28:60
All that is given to you is the wealth and ornaments of this world´s life. Better and lasting is that which is with Allah. Do you not understand?
وَمَٓا اُو۫ت۪يتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَز۪ينَتُهَاۚ وَمَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ وَاَبْقٰىۜ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ۟
The Stories/28:79
"At one time he came out among his people in all his splendor. Those who chose the life of this world said: "If only we had been given the like of what was given to Karun. Indeed, he is a very lucky man"."
فَخَرَجَ عَلٰى قَوْمِه۪ ف۪ي ز۪ينَتِه۪ۜ قَالَ الَّذ۪ينَ يُر۪يدُونَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا يَا لَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَٓا اُو۫تِيَ قَارُونُۙ اِنَّهُ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظ۪يمٍ
The Stories/28:80
"Those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you, for better is the reward of Allah for him who believes and does righteous deeds. Only the patient shall attain it."
وَقَالَ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ لِمَنْ اٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحاًۚ وَلَا يُلَقّٰيهَٓا اِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ
The Spider/29:64
The life of this world is nothing but amusement and play. And the abode of the Hereafter is the true life, if only they knew.
وَمَا هٰذِهِ الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَٓا اِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌۜ وَاِنَّ الدَّارَ الْاٰخِرَةَ لَهِيَ الْحَيَوَانُۢ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
The Forgiver/40:39
O my people, the life of this world is a temporary livelihood. The abode of the Hereafter is an everlasting abode.
يَا قَوْمِ اِنَّمَا هٰذِهِ الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌۘ وَاِنَّ الْاٰخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ
The Forgiver/40:39
O my people, the life of this world is a temporary livelihood. The abode of the Hereafter is an everlasting abode.
يَا قَوْمِ اِنَّمَا هٰذِهِ الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌۘ وَاِنَّ الْاٰخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ
Muhammad/47:36
The life of this world is but play and amusement. If you believe and act righteously, He will give you your rewards. He does not ask you for your money.
اِنَّمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌۜ وَاِنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا يُؤْتِكُمْ اُجُورَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْـَٔلْكُمْ اَمْوَالَكُمْ
The Iron/57:20
Know that the life of this world is but play, amusement, adornment, boasting among yourselves, and a race to multiply money and children. It is like the rain that makes a plant grow which the disbelievers like. But then the plant withers and turns yellow and becomes rubbish. In the Hereafter there is a severe punishment from Allah and forgiveness and contentment. The life of this world is but a temporary pleasure that deceives.
اِعْلَمُٓوا اَنَّمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَز۪ينَةٌ وَتَفَاخُرٌ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌ فِي الْاَمْوَالِ وَالْاَوْلَادِۜ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ اَعْجَبَ الْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُ ثُمَّ يَه۪يجُ فَتَرٰيهُ مُصْفَراًّ ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَاماًۜ وَفِي الْاٰخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَد۪يدٌۙ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِضْوَانٌۜ وَمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَٓا اِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
