Or do they resent what Allah has given to mankind from His bounty? But We gave to the family of Abraham the Book and wisdom, and We gave them great authority.

Had it not been for Allah´s grace and mercy upon you, a group of them would have led you astray. They can only mislead themselves; they can do you no harm. Allah sent down to you the Book and wisdom and taught you what you did not know. Allah´s favor towards you is great.

Woe to those who sell their personalities to disbelieve in what Allah has sent down, not despising that Allah sends down His bounty to whom He wills of His servants! So they incurred wrath upon wrath. For the disbelievers is a humiliating torment.

And We favored some of those messengers more than others, for example, with some Allah spoke, and with some He raised them in degrees. We gave clear proofs to Jesus son of Mary and supported him with the Holy Spirit. Had Allah willed, they would not have fought one another. But Allah does what He wills.

"And their messengers said to them: "Surely we are human beings like you. But Allah chooses whom He wills from among His servants and bestows favor upon him. It is impossible for us to bring you a certificate of authority without Allah´s permission. Believers should trust in Allah."

So that the people of the Book may know that they cannot monopolize the bounty of Allah; all bounty is in the hand of Allah, and He gives it to whom He wills and/or to whom He wills. Allah is the Owner of Great Grace.
