بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
6
21:1 The reckoning of mankind is near, but they still turn away in disbelief.
اِقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ ف۪ي غَفْلَةٍ مُعْرِضُونَۚ
4
21:2 Whenever a new message (dhikr) comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it without taking it seriously.
مَا يَأْت۪يهِمْ مِنْ ذِكْرٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ مُحْدَثٍ اِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَۙ

21:3 "Their hearts are reckless. The wrongdoers talked to each other in secret: "Is this man not a man like you? Are you going to be bewitched?"
لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْۜ وَاَسَرُّوا النَّجْوٰىۗ اَلَّذ۪ينَ ظَلَمُواۗ هَلْ هٰذَٓا اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْۚ اَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَاَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

21:4 "He said, "My Lord knows every word in heaven and earth. He is the Hearing, the Knowing. "
قَالَ رَبّ۪ي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَٓاءِ وَالْاَرْضِۘ وَهُوَ السَّم۪يعُ الْعَل۪يمُ

21:5 "They even said, "It is a vain imagination,"and, "He has fabricated it,"and, "He is a poet; let him bring us miracles like the messengers of old."
بَلْ قَالُٓوا اَضْغَاثُ اَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرٰيهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌۚ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِاٰيَةٍ كَمَٓا اُرْسِلَ الْاَوَّلُونَ

21:6 None of the people whom We destroyed before them believed; will these believe now?
مَٓا اٰمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ اَهْلَكْنَاهَاۚ اَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ

21:7 We did not send before you any messenger except to men, but We revealed to them; ask the experts if you do not know.
وَمَٓا اَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ اِلَّا رِجَالاً نُوح۪ٓي اِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُٓوا اَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

21:8 We did not create them as bodies that did not eat, nor were they immortal.
وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَداً لَا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِد۪ينَ

21:9 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them; We saved them with those whom We willed, and We destroyed those who went astray.
ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَاهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَاَنْجَيْنَاهُمْ وَمَنْ نَشَٓاءُ وَاَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِف۪ينَ

21:10 We have sent down to you a Book containing the Message for you. Will you not use your intellect?
لَقَدْ اَنْزَلْـنَٓا اِلَيْكُمْ كِتَاباً ف۪يهِ ذِكْرُكُمْۜ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ۟

21:11 And how many nations did We destroy because they were unjust, and We brought after them other peoples.
وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَاَنْشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْماً اٰخَر۪ينَ

21:12 As soon as they felt Our torment, they tried to flee from it.
فَلَمَّٓا اَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَٓا اِذَا هُمْ مِنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَۜ

21:13 Do not flee, but return to your homes where you lived in luxury and extravagance. For you will be questioned.
لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُٓوا اِلٰى مَٓا اُتْرِفْتُمْ ف۪يهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ

21:14 "They said, "Woe to us, we were indeed the wrongdoers."
قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَٓا اِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِم۪ينَ

21:15 They will keep repeating this supplication until they have devoured them.
فَمَا زَالَتْ تِلْكَ دَعْوٰيهُمْ حَتّٰى جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَص۪يداً خَامِد۪ينَ

21:16 We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for play.
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَٓاءَ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِب۪ينَ

21:17 If We had wished to have a pastime, We would have made it from Our own Presence. Yes, if We had wished such a thing!
لَوْ اَرَدْنَٓا اَنْ نَتَّخِذَ لَهْواً لَاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِنْ لَدُنَّاۗ اِنْ كُنَّا فَاعِل۪ينَ

21:18 Nay, We throw the truth upon falsehood and it crushes and destroys it. Woe to you for what you ascribe.
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَاِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۜ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

21:19 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Those who are with Him are not arrogant in worshipping Him, nor do they pause.
وَلَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِه۪ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَۚ

21:20 They glorify and remember Him day and night, never tiring.
يُسَبِّحُونَ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
